Grey Matters Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit with an independent board of directors, and is responsible for overseeing the publishing of The Current. Grey Matters Project says that it recognizes the independence of editors and reporters of any journalism enterprise - news coverage of any funded project or news story, it claims, shall remain independent of the donors and of Grey Matters Project.

The Trust Project
The Trust Project is an international consortium of news organizations building standards of transparency and working with technology platforms to affirm and amplify journalism’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, inclusion and fairness so that the public can make informed news choices. It was founded and is led by award-winning journalist Sally Lehrman.
Our Funders
