Cambio16 is a Spanish monthly magazine covering politics, economics and society. The publication has a center-progressive, mainstream political stance.
Cambio16 aims to inform and educate audiences as a reliable and truthful source of information. The publication reports on issues it deems essential to of national and international interest with a goal of defending freedom and democracy.
The Cambio16 mission is to contribute, educate and continue to develop a reliable news media source of reference at the service of society and in defence of democracy.
Cambio16's code of ethics includes committing itself to report on the truth, only using legal means to obtain information, respecting the rights of individuals or institutions to not provide information to the publication, establishing a clear distinction between facts and opinions in stories, and remaining independent, unbiased and uninfluenced in its reporting.
Cambio16 is owned and operated by Grupo EIG Multimedia SL. The publication is funded by its print sales, print and online subscriptions and advertising sales under Cambio16, Energia16 and Cambio Financiero.
The publication says inclusion and diversification of Cambio16's reporting is of the utmost importance. Cambio16 strives to give a voice to all people, regardless of race, nationality or religion. The publication says it evaluates the scope and impact of its reporting on a regular basis to guarantee diversity, impartiality and clarity of communication.
When the publication is notified that a particular story does not comply with standard editorial procedure, the editorial board and director will assess the situation to determine how to move forward, including notifying the author of the story. Once it is confirmed that a mistake was made and the correct information can be determined, the policy is to update the article to reflect the new information with a clearly labeled correction at the top or bottom of the story.
Cambio16 generally publishes all its sources to guarantee the veracity and transparency of its reporting. Unnamed sources are only to be used when the source requires anonymity due to contractual impossibility or other causes that make it impossible to disclose the source's name. In the event that information on the source is required by any government institution or to allow an individual to reply to a claim made by the source, Cambio16 reserves the right to show support that accompanies the published news without disclosing the source's name.
