Ownership & Funding

Jornal do Commercio is privately owned by the JCPM Group, chaired by businessman João Carlos Paes Mendonça, the controlling shareholder.

Paes Mendonça became nationally known when he created the Bompreço (Good Price) supermarket chain, whose controlling interest was sold in 2000.

JC's main sources of revenue are the sale of advertising space in the print newspaper and its digital version, in addition to the sale of subscriptions to both formats.

JC pledges to correct errors diligently, publishing corrections and clarifications as quickly as possible, including the corrected information as well as an explanation of why the error happened, also noting the date of publication.
